BANDA ACEH, Indonesia, Apr 22 (EFE/EPA).— Rising temperatures, stronger extreme weather, growing emissions and worsening pollution continue to raise alarms over the state of the planet on Earth Day.

Scientists warned there is a 70 percent chance of temporarily exceeding the 1.5 degrees Celsius threshold set under the Paris Agreement.

Recent years have brought harsher droughts, floods, wildfires, glacier loss and biodiversity decline, affecting millions worldwide. (Camera: HOTLI SIMANJUNTAK).
