SPAIN - EUROPEAN UNION PRESIDENCY
MADRID, 08/01/2010.- Spanish Prime Minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, awaits for the arrival of President of the European Commission, Portuguese Jose Manuel Durao Barroso, and the EU Council's President Herman Van Rompuy, at La Moncloa Presidential Palace in Madrid, central Spain, 08 January 2010. Spain has taken the rotatory presidency of the EU on 01 January 2010. Spain's Prime Minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will take over the EU presidency from Sweden, represented by Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, during the gala ceremony which will be held later on at the Royal Theatre.
