CHILE ASTRONOMY

The head of the ALMA observatory, French Pierre Cox, speaks in Santiago, on 17 June 2014, where he announced that the largest radio telescope in the world, at the Atacama Desert (Chile), has already been finish after the installation of their last antenna, which in the future will allow to hear the "origin of the universe". The world's largest radio telescope construction began in 2003 on Llano Chainantor, 50 kilometers from San Pedro de Atacama, and 1,500 kilometers north of Santiago. EFE/MARIO RUIZ
