VENEZUELA ELECTIONS

Venezuela warns 7 Latin American countries to "immediately" pull out diplomatic missions

Caracas, Jul 29 (EFE).- The Venezuelan government on Monday demanded that Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay "immediately withdraw their representatives on Venezuelan territory" in protest of their "interfering actions and statements" in Sunday's presidential election, an official statement said.

The government of Nicolás Maduro also decided to "withdraw all diplomatic personnel from the missions" in these seven Latin American countries, which were among the many that throughout the day questioned the Electoral Council's declaration that Maduro, in power since 2013, had won Sunday's presidential election.
