Unions take over Argentina's capital and ask the government to curb inflation

Buenos Aires, Aug 17 (EFE), (Camera: Alberto Caratozzolo) - Unions aligned with the Government of Argentina took over the center of Buenos Aires to show their support for the Executive in the face of "speculators" but also to demand that President Alberto Fernandez curb the inflation that is liquefying the incomes of Argentines.

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT), the country's largest labor federation dominated by Peronist union leaders, held a massive rally in the capital against "speculation" and "price makers", which it blamed for the high inflation suffered by Argentina, 71 % year-on-year in July.
