Senegal restricts social media amid violent protests

Dakar (Senegal), June 1 (EFE).- Social networks were restricted this Thursday night in Senegal after a day of violent protests unleashed after the sentence to two years in prison for corruption of minors against the main opponent, Ousmane Sonko.

While the WhatsApp connection was unstable and photos and audio could not be received or sent, social networks such as Twitter or Facebook were inaccessible, except through the use of a virtual private network (VPN).
