School year begins for 89,400 students in early childhood education in Spain

Madrid, Sep 5 (EFE) - Classes have started this Thursday in the first cycle of Early Childhood Education from 0 to 3 years for 89,410 students distributed in about 1,200 nursery schools, children's homes and public nursery and primary schools authorized to teach this cycle in the region.

Of these, 51,606 are enrolled in publicly funded centers. Of the total number of students, 95.5% receive public aid either through schooling in the public network, in private centers with agreements or in private centers authorized through the Early Childhood Education scholarships.
