Picasso's Guernica displayed on giant 8k screen in Japan | Video

Tokyo, Aug 16 (EFE/EPA).- One of the most famous works of art, " Guernica " by Pablo Picasso, was displayed on Tuesday in Tokyo on a high-resolution screen almost the same size as the iconic canvas, thanks to an innovative project by Japanese broadcaster NHK and the company NTT.

The greatest work by the Spanish artist from Malaga is the centerpiece of the exhibition “Guernica is here!”, which allows visitors to contemplate it in its enormous dimensions and at the same time immerse themselves in its details through the 8K-definition filming and broadcasting process.

The state broadcaster NHK uses this ultra-high-resolution 8K technology to record cultural assets and works of art and transmit them to future generations. It also used this image standard to broadcast last year's Tokyo Olympics. (Camera: FRANCK ROBICHON/ANTONIO HERMOSIN).
