PETA India stages protest marking 25 years of animals' rights advocacy

New Delhi, Mar 27 (EFE/EPA).- Chained, covered in fake blood, and hung next to replicas of a slaughtered pig and goat, Poorva Joshipura, director of the animal rights organization PETA India, staged a dramatic protest in central New Delhi on Thursday to raise awareness about the suffering of animals in the meat industry and promote veganism.

"I'm here hung like a carcass at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to appeal to people to relate to the fate of chickens, cows, pigs, fish, and other animals who end up on our plates," Joshipura told EFE during the protest. (Camera: RAJAT GUPTA / LUCÍA GOÑI).
