Paris (France), November 22 (EFE).- Just two weeks before the reopening of Notre Dame after the disastrous fire of 2019, an exhibition featuring over 120 sculptural fragments, both from the exterior and the interior, allows visitors to travel back in time and glimpse what the true appearance of this French symbol was in the medieval context of its origins.CAMERA: VAL TORRES GONZALEZ.FOOTAGE FROM THE EXHIBITION 'MAKING THE STONES SPEAK' AT THE CLUNY MUSEUM. INCLUDES STATEMENTS FROM THE COMMISSIONER OF THE EXHIBITION, DAMIEN BERNÉ.TRANSLATION:1.- "The exhibition shows for the first time sculptures that have never been seen before and that are in the reserve of the Cluny Museum. It also shows some sculptures that are part of the permanent collection that have been restored and are in an unprecedented state."2. "The fragments of the upper choir belong to the French State because the cathedral is a monument that currently belongs to the State. They are under the responsibility of the excavation manager, Éline Rap, who has a deadline to submit the excavation report. These efforts will allow for the manipulation of the fragments to digitize and study them from a physical perspective. Over time, this will allow for both a virtual and physical reconstruction of the upper choir. for the moment, we cannot say where this reconstruction will take place, but the State will decide once Inrap (Institut national de recherches archéologiques préventives) has returned the fragments after the study."
