UKRAINE WAR

Kyiv retains vital pulse despite three bombings in less than 48 hours

Kyiv (Ukraine), May 29 (EFE) - (Camera: Marcel Gascón) Despite having suffered three bombings in less than 48 hours, the last one just before midday on Monday, the Ukrainian capital maintains its vital pulse like any other European city, with terraces full of people enjoying the sun and even a backdrop for selfies with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Minutes after eleven o'clock on Monday, with the streets filled with delivery trucks, passers-by and cars, the now-familiar sound of explosions filled the Kyiv sky at an unusual hour.

After months of almost exclusively night-time bombardment, such as that which woke many of the city's citizens in the early hours of Sunday and Monday morning, Russia attacked Ukraine in broad daylight with 11 cruise and ballistic missiles.
