Indonesia celebrates 77th Independence Day

Lhoknga, Aug 17 (EFE/EPA).- On Wednesday, Indonesians across the country celebrated the 77th Independence Day.

Indonesia commemorates the anniversary of the proclamation of Indonesian independence on August 17, 1945, and later became a public holiday by government decree in 1946.

Ceremonies and festivities were held across the country to mark the day, including a flag-raising ceremony at diplomatic facilities abroad, local community competitions, and patriotic and cultural parades. (Camera: HOTLI SIMANJUNTAK).
