Hundreds of thousands of ultra-Orthodox bid farewell to leading Rabbi Edelstein

Bnei Brak (Israel), May 30 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Abir Sultan) Some 250,000 ultra-Orthodox Jews attended the funeral on Tuesday of Gershon Edelstein, an important Israeli rabbi and religious leader, who died on Tuesday at the age of 100.

The funeral took place in the town of Bnei Brak, an important ultra-Orthodox stronghold in central Israel, and was closed to private vehicles, with only public transport allowed to enter.
