Feminists in Madrid call for abolition of prostitution law

Madrid, May 28 (EFE).- Some 7,000 demonstrators, according to data provided by the government delegation in Madrid, marched this Saturday in the capital to demand a specific law for the abolition of prostitution, in a protest organised by the State Platform of Women's Organisations for the Abolition of Prostitution (PAP) which, according to the organisers, brought together 186 other feminist organisations.

The mostly female protesters marched down Madrid's Gran Via shopping street, carrying many posters and banners. Some read: "Prostitution is not a job". Many chanted "no more sexual exploitation". (Camera: ÁNGEL HERRERA/SANTIAGO CASTRO).
