Elena Arzak questions future of current tasting menu | Video

San Sebastián (Spain), Oct 3 (EFE).- (Camera: Julen Zubillaga) "Do you think that the tasting menu is losing strength and we have to give the diner freedom to choose? I have my doubts, this would be worth it for a congress to debate", has launched this Monday to the public of the XIV San Sebastián Gastronomika Elena Arzak, from the three-starred Arzak from Donostia.

In a talk that started with a fun video about the history of the menus in the restaurant that her family has run since 1897 -"authentic writings of love for the product and the diner", she said- the cook has opined that while the menu is " a manifesto of the gastronomic identity of a restaurant, of its purpose and reason for being and existing", the tasting menu is the "chef's signature".
