Cuban PM inaugurates 41st edition of FitCuba

Havana, May 1 (EFE).- The 41st edition of the International Tourism Fair of Cuba (FitCuba) was inaugurated on Monday by Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, who expressed confidence in the sector's recovery despite the challenges it faces.

The fair, which focuses on Havana's heritage and culture, will be held until Friday at the San Carlos de la Cabaña fortress.

The tourism industry is a crucial sector of the Cuban economy, contributing significantly to its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and foreign exchange earnings, but has been affected by the current economic crisis. Nevertheless, Marrero is optimistic about the sector's potential to overcome these challenges. (Camera: FELIPE BORREGO).
