Community tourism project in Mexican Caribbean seeks to halt youth migration

Tihosuco, May 28 (EFE).- A group of young people from the Mayan community of Tihosuco in the Mexican Caribbean developed the community tourism project named "Historical Tihosuco, the house of the Batabes" as an alternative to avoid migrating from the region.

The only guaranteed future for these young people was to dedicate themselves to self-consumption agriculture or move to nearby tourist destinations such as Cancun, the Riviera Maya and Tulum. (Camera: LOURDES CRUZ).
