Colombian presidential candidate Petro closes election campaign in Bogotá

Bogotá, May 22 (EFE).- The leftist candidate for the presidency of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, claimed in a public square in Bogotá on Sunday at the end of his campaign that his government proposal was the only one that could give the country back its dignity.

"We cannot continue with hunger, we cannot continue with injustice, we cannot continue with academic ignorance, in which governments want to plunge people into inequality, in the lack of rights and freedoms," said the favourite in the polls to win the elections, although not in the first round on 29 May.
