Chief Justice of Bangladesh's Supreme Court resigns after students' ultimatum

Dhaka (Bangladesh), Aug 10 (EFE/EPA) - The chief justice of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh resigned Saturday after a crowd of students demanded with protests the departure of the highest magistrate of the country, plunged into an institutional crisis after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"Our chief justice has resigned. His resignation letter has already reached the Ministry of Justice. We will send it to the president without delay," adviser in charge of the interim government's Justice Ministry Asif Nazrul said in a video posted on his Facebook account.
