Cartagena de Indias receives replica of pistols of city's defender Blas de Lezo

Cartagena de Indias, May 23 (EFE).- A replica of two pistols that belonged to Blas de Lezo y Olavarrieta (1689-1741), one of the most important naval officers and one of the best strategists in Spanish naval history, will be permanently exhibited from Monday in the Naval Museum of the Caribbean, in Cartagena de Indias, along with other objects alluding to the "Half-Man ".

Blas de Lezo was nicknamed the "Mediohombre," or "Half-Man" because the many battles he fought during his years of service in the Spanish Navy left him with the use of just one eye, one leg, and one arm. (Camera: RICARDO MALDONADO).

SHOT LIST: A REPLICA OF TWO PISTOLS THAT BELONGED TO BLAS DE LEZO Y OLAVARRIETA BEING EXHIBITED IN THE NAVAL MUSEUM OF THE CARIBBEAN, IN CARTAGENA DE INDIAS, COLOMBIA.
