VENEZUELA CRISIS

Caracas highway displays wanted posters against opposition leader

Caracas, Jan 10 (EFE).- Posters with a wanted notice for opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia with a $100,000 reward appeared on billboards along Caracas' main highway.

The billboards coincided with the swearing-in of Nicolás Maduro for a third six-year term, an act denounced by the opposition as a ‘coup d'état’.

The billboards also featured images of former Latin American presidents, drawing criticism from opposition supporters who see them as part of a campaign to stifle dissent. (Camera: RAYNER PEÑA).
